The Public Works Department of Tamil Nadu is a state government owned authority, and is in charge of public sector works in the State of Tamil Nadu. It is part of the Ministry of

Public Works Department, and is entrusted with the construction and maintenance of buildings for most of the government departments and public undertakings, and the construction of bridges, roads, and infrastructure.

Positions :- Graduate/Technician Apprentice

Job Location :- Tamil Nadu

Stipend :-

• Graduate Apprentices: Rs 9,000/-
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs 8,000/-

Qualification :-

Graduate Apprentices:

• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.
• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
• Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:

• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in relevant discipline.
• A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.

Note :-

• Graduate/Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during 2020, 2021 & 2022) are eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are not eligible to apply.
• The list of shortlisted candidates shall be published in the website.
• The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

Age Limit :- Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering : 25 Posts
• Architecture : 15 Posts

Technician (Diploma) Apprentices : 145 Posts

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering : 25 Posts
• Architecture : 05 Posts

Selection Process :-

• The selection process is based on the merit.
• Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines.
• Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id.
• Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at PWD, Chennai.

• Last date for enrolling in NATS portal : 06 March 2023
• Last date for applying Public Works Department Tamil Nadu : 31 March 2023
• Declaration of Shortlisted list : 10 April 2023
• Verification of certificates for shortlisted candidates : 19, 20, 21 April 2023
